The purpose of this study was to differentiate between school performances on the basis of their cognitive capability in transition period. On developmental point of view cognitive development is intangible but theories and scale and well standards to find out the status, so, Cognitive development is much more than the addition of new facts and ideas to an existing store of information. School as an important factor in determining the level of performance on cognitive tasks. Objective of the study was to assess the cognitive development of private and government schools for the difference. This study was conducted on 120 adolescence (10-13 years) government and private school in Lucknow city.The duration of the study was 11 months (July2012 - May 2013). The approaches adopted for the study was multi-stage random sampling. The tools in the present study were predesigned and pretested questionnaire for family level to assess of cognitive development. In study area there are found the highly significant difference in combinatory thinking class inclusion time and motion conservation of area, conservation of weight and conservation of volume formulating hypothesis and testing hypothesis. Private school students have more cognitive capabilities compared to Government schools students.Keywords

Effective communication is essential for reaching the targeted receivers. Good communication should consist of creating understanding, imparting about the concern subject. Therefore, the present study was carried out to analyse effectiveness of Home Science articles in Hindi newspaper "Sangini" (Dainik Jagran). It was selected purposively; fifty one newspapers from January 2003 to December 2003 were selected.Primary data were collected through interview schedule from Saurikh block of Kannauj district. Percentage was used as statistical measure. It can be concluded from the findings that It can be concluded from the findings that most of the women (38.34%) gave first rank to "Home Management" on the basis of high level of effectiveness of articles. Articles effectiveness to different aspects, 76.67 per cent women were in the favour of cover page and coverage + subject matter + language and 46.67 per cent gave first rank to the subject matter. In case of get up of newspaper, 61.67 per cent women answered "Good". Sixty eight per cent women liked the form of articles. Fifty five per cent women were not responding/sending suggestions and sixty per cent were not sending their articles for newspaper. Eighty three per cent women attracted sometimes towards photograph on the front page of newspaper. Majority of women (61.67%) reported 'very usefulness' of this newspaper reading. Fifty eight per cent women were purchasing newspaper sometimes. Sixty three per cent women were bringing information in practice 'sometimes'i.e. is gathered from newspaper. Maximum of women (56.67%) found attitudinal changes in their behaviour after reading newspaper and 68.33 per cent found changes in themselves regarding the subject F.N. + H.D. + H.M. + C.T. Thirty one per cent women gave first rank to the subject namely 'clothing and textiles' regarding changes in their behaviour. Fifty three per cent women were giving suggestions related to newspapers. Therefore, it is concluded that newspaper's editorial team is efforting for diverting the consumers for reading the newspaper content instead of certified research outcome based books.Keywords

Obesity is a growing global health problem. In India, more than half of the adult women are overweight and almost 30% are obese. The problems which are associated with obesity are Type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, high LDL (bad) cholesterol, stroke, hypertension, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis ( degeneration of cartilage and bone of joints), sleep apnea and other breathing problem, some forms of cancer (breast, colorectal, endometrial and kidney).Obesity represents a major risk factor in pregnant and lactating women and has documented maternal effects on both pregnancy and the fetus. Alarmingly 35% of the women died from maternal death had a BMI >30. According to the results and discussion of the study following broad conclusion was drawn according to anthropometrics measurement. The majority of maternal women belonging to this phase showed the maternal obesity in obese and non-obese women in the study by using previous WHO criteria and proposed Asian criteria. The anthropometric measurement obese and non-obese problem in Lucknow city was assessed on body mass index, the objective of the study was to know nature and extent of maternal condition during the study, to determine obese and non-obese women according to anthropometry measurement. To assess metabolic aberrations in women through biochemical parameters and investigation of the risk of maternal obesity condition women. The study was carried out in urban area of Lucknow city using retrospective study (case-control study) after applying screening technique to drawn the sample size (n=120). For this study, 120 women belonging to reproductive age group (15 to 49 years) in four mohalla of Lucknow city by adopting multistage random sampling procedure. The tools in the study were pre- designed and pre-tested schedule comprising of family and individual schedule, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference/ hip circumference. Metabolic syndrome (MS) 10.00 per cent, metabolically healthy but obese (MHO) 41.67 per cent, metabolically obese normal weight (MONW) 48.33 per cent women and results are given 120 women according to her age (55.81%) women were metabolically normal weight (BMI>18.5) according to (BMI>30).Keywords
